How Does Bitcoin Work?
One of the main complaints of cryptocurrencies is that they are a separate currency. You own your bitcoins, just as you own money in your wallet. No central authority like a bank or other financial institution can control your finances.
To eliminate centralized authority, cryptocurrencies use blockchains to record their transactions. Blockchain is a simultaneously stored and updated platform for thousands of independent computers around the world. Although authentication methods vary between different Crypto hardware wallet currencies and blockchains, they all use cryptography to ensure that everything is legal (hence the term crypto-currency) and has not been tampered with. Although I will use bitcoin as an example in this post, many of the concepts discussed here apply to other cryptocurrencies.
If people want to send you bitcoins, they will use your bitcoin address, a unique series of alphanumeric characters. Each authorized payment is added to the blockchain and contains the sender and recipient addresses of the transaction.
How can you prove that bitcoins stored at your address are yours? Every bitcoin address is associated with a pair of public and private Crypto hardware wallet graphic keys. Public / private cryptography is an old secret code used in many of the applications we use every day, including HTTPS websites and PGP-protected emails. Public encrypted data can only be deleted with encryption. People often publish their public key to allow others to encrypt and send them private information. They keep the secret private to them and use it to verify encrypted data with their public key.
The default is also true: Encrypted data can be removed from public key encryption. This method is used for "digital signatures." To prove I am the official sender of the information, I added a piece of encrypted information to my secret key. Since my public key is already known, anyone can verify my signature by trying to secretly delete it with my public key.
Back to bitcoin Terzor Wallet. Before I send bitcoins to the address, I have to make sure I have them. To do this, I need to sign the function with a secret sender key address. Once that is confirmed, the computers that keep the bitcoin blockchain will approve and register my work.
